Medjool Date Whole Grain and Oat Bars


  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  • 2 cups Old Fashioned Oats (Regular Rolled Oats)

  • 1 cup whole grain oat cereal (such as Uncle Tobys Cheerios)

  • 1/2 cup Natural Delights Medjool dates, pitted and chopped


  1. Line a 20 cm square baking dish with aluminium foil or parchment paper, pressing firmly into the corners.

  2. Stir together the honey and butter in a medium saucepan over a medium-high heat. Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 2 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Stir together the oats, cereal and dates in a large bowl. Stir in the butter mixture until the cereal is thoroughly coated. Press firmly into the prepared baking dish.

  4. Let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes or until set. Remove from pan and by lifting the foil or parchment. Cut into bars.
